Been Gone

I haven't updated since July, I've gotten a few nasty emails from different labels regarding posting mp3s here, so I've decided to take a break for awhile. I also have been travelling quite a bit over the past while between visiting my wife in Seattle and travelling to Berlin on business.
In the meantime I might update the site with latest art and current listens, but nothing too major at this point.
Thanks for the support in the meantime guys.

Sunset Blvd.

Bad Passion Wobachi Version by J3Concepts
-----------------------------------------
Some new and some old tracks in this update:

This first track is like taking 2 of your favorite things and putting them into a blender, lets say puppies and dental floss for example. I love Postal Service and Ben Folds, especially Ben Folds covering a Postal Service track. Yep this one is older.

Ben Folds - Such Great Heights

-----------------------------------------

This next one I could do without the production on, but the fact it has Chromeo's lead on vocals gives me a soft spot for it.

Surkin feat. Chromeo - Chrome Knight

-----------------------------------------

I actually really enjoyed Captain's 2006 album "This is Hazelville". This next track is one of the key tracks from the album along with "Glorious".

Captain -This Heart Keeps Beating For Me

-----------------------------------------

I've been a fan of Tahiti 80 since "Heartbeat". And I randomly found this track the other day and instantly fell in love with it. I also suggest "Changes (Swayzak Darkfarmer Remix)" by Tahiti.

Tahiti 80 - All Around (Yuksek Remix)

-----------------------------------------

Just recently fell in love with this last track, I'm sure I'm behind on this one. Great feel good track. All I know is that Pacific has some great production behind them from what I've heard in the past.

Pacific - Sunset Blvd

Yah!

Design by J3Concepts, currently up for voting at DBH
Yeah been awhile...again.
Got back from Berlin and juts haven't been too motivated to update this blog thing.
Anyway I have a range of newer tracks for you.
First up is a excellent track by Poni Hoax. I've never really been into them before but the vocals in this track are incredibly catchy, like a rough 80s track and then a remix by Joakim really tops it off. I've had a new respect for Joakim since his "Hearts on Fire" remix last year.
Poni Hoax - Hypercommunication (Joakims Cartoon Muscles Remix)
-----------------------------------------
Next up is Sam Sparro. He's had the full remix treatment by a ton of different producers out there but this next one I think is the first remix of "21st Century Life" and if not, then that shows how much I really know. Anyway the remix is by Mehdi, who in my opinion is hit and miss, but this remix is enjoyable for sure.
-----------------------------------------
I juked in my pants when I saw who did this next remix together. A great mix between Fred Falke and Miami Horror of an already excellent track between Pnau and Ladyhawke. Not much more to say, great track.
-----------------------------------------
I vaguely remember this next track having a different name, but whatever it's hard to keep track of all this music. Anyway it's a sharp remix as we've come to expect from Sinden and the vocals are catchy... even though I have no fucking clue what she is saying. This track really reminds me of Leftfield's "Afro Left", which I'll also post.

Miracle Cure

Anything with Bernard Summer in it is good in my books. Great new track from Blank & Jones featuring Bernard Summer of course.
--------------------------------
This next one was rather unexpected. I like We Are Scientist's first album alot, their latest though hasn't really grown on me yet. Their latest single "Chick Lit" has had a great treatment by Danger though, and it's rather catchy.
--------------------------------
Anything off the Ed Banger label is rather 'hit and miss' with me, but the odd remix comes out that I enjoy. This next one is a remix by Ed Banger's main man 'Busy P' and it's a remix of James Lavelle's latest single under the guise of Unkle, 'Restless'. I didn't quite warm up to the remix until the 3rd-4th listen, might be the same for you.

Hearts on Fire

'Pirate Radio Fan Club' by J3Concepts
-------------------------------------
Not an Usher fan... not a MSTRKRFT fan that much anymore either, but this remix is so damn catchy. (removed by request)
Usher - Love In This Club(MSTRKRFT Remix)
-------------------------------------
The newest Cut Copy album is incredible and it's had some great remixes birth from it. The 'Hearts on Fire' remix by Joakim was by far one of the best, this Midnight Juggernaughts remix is quite enjoyable on it's own merit though. This version might be a set rip, not 100% sure.
-------------------------------------
The new album by Pendulum has gotten me feling conflicted, I'm not sure whether or not to like it. It's got some interesting production and vocal work, but it doesn't have any major bangers such as 'Tarantula' off their album 'Hold Your Color'. Either way this Van She Tech remix of Pendulum's first single 'Propane Nightmares' is rather enjoyable.

It's been too long...

"The Chills" by J3Concepts
Yeah I know it's been way too long. Sorry for that. I've finally gotten the hint with all the emails and messages that people did actually in fact read my posts. So I will try and get back into the full swing of things.
Starting off with 3 new remixes, 2 from Lifelike and 1 from Basement Jaxx.
---------------------------------
Does It Offend You, Yeah! has an interesting style for sure, all over the map but still quite enjoyable. Waiting on a remix of "Being Bad Feels Pretty Good", but until then here is an excellent remix of "Epic Last Song" by Lifelike.
---------------------------------
Adele kinda hit hard out of nowhere. Here is her latest "Cold Shoulder" remixed by Basement Jaxx, which are hopefully coming out with a new album soon.
---------------------------------
I never really heard of Cazals until awhile back with the Vicarious Bliss remix of "To Cut A Long Story Short". I'm really loving the Lifelike remix of "Somebody Somewhere" though, damn catchy.
---------------------------------
Now hopefully I can keep this posting thing up and going from now on, we'll see.
Leave a note if there is any tracks you want to see uploaded or if you have any questions.
Also for any of my artwork you can check my Site or my Behance profile.

Jack U

Yeah I didn't wait over a month to do this update. Here some new ones and old ones.
------------------------------------
Enjoyable little remake of a classic Chemical Brothers track. Good the second time around no doubt.
------------------------------------
More of a pop-track than my normal taste, but it's kinda grown on me... a bit. Stuart Price version, nice to see him having his hands in things lately.
------------------------------------
Tracey Thorn has a definable enough voice, not 100% sure on all of her stuff though. Anyway Hot Chip touched this one up, so it's a go in my books.
------------------------------------
I have a soft spot for Chaz Jankel, yeah I know, I know... but you'll get over it. Anyway really enjoyed this next track. Just funky.
------------------------------------
Been out for a bit, great remix though. Good little edge to it.
------------------------------------
To the best of my knowledge Henrik and Plec normally produce metal, explains the heavy guitar in this one. Solid remix.
------------------------------------
Newest from Kasper Bjorke... tis good? Yes.
------------------------------------
Late Additions:
------------------------------------
One of the best Chromeo remixes I've heard in awhile.
Chromeo - Needy Girl (Lifelike Mix)
------------------------------------
Another Klaxons remix, this one I actually enjoyed though.
Klaxons - Atlantis To Interzone(Destroy Disco Remix)

She's The One

Yeah it's been well over a month. Been getting hassled to do an update. Some new stuff some semi-new stuff. I also removed all my previous mp3 links because most of that stuff you can get anywhere now.

--------------------------------------------------------
Not sure on this next one yet. I really enjoy Boyond The Wizard's Sleeve of course and the Brothers, just not sold on this remix just yet, not like their remix of Midlake's "Roscoe" which was an instant classic.
--------------------------------------------------------
Really not a fan of Rufus Wainwright, but this track really hit the right spot with me, not sure why yet, it's just a great little track.
--------------------------------------------------------
I love almost every track Zoot Woman puts out, this new track is no acception. Not as catchy as their usual stuff, but new and enjoyable nonetheless.
--------------------------------------------------------
Not sure where Holy Ghost! came from, but it's a great example of DFA digging up talent. Love this track. Does the vocals sound like the lead singer of Chromeo?
--------------------------------------------------------
I think I enjoy the 12 inch version of "flux" the most, but I love Goodbooks, so I figured I'd throw up this remix.
--------------------------------------------------------
Hot Chip can jump from indie rock to soul to dance to hip hop, to just about anything. This is another great track by Dundas, Ontario's Caribou, I think I've been into about 90-95% of Hot Chip's remixes as of late. This track features Jeremy Greenspan from Junior Boys (Hamilton, Ontario)
--------------------------------------------------------
Once and awhile these chicks put out a "popish-but-rather-catchy-un-indie" track, this is their newest one.
--------------------------------------------------------
Not much to say about this one, Lifelike is good here and there and Sia, well I'm kinda over Sia, but she was amazing live. Give it a listen.
--------------------------------------------------------
No post would be complete without some Radio Slave or something similar, yep newest from Matt, little mor ei nthe style of original Radio Slave stuff with Serge Santiago but with still a minimal touch.

Updates n Updates

(Image property of showdownvintage)
Yeah yeah, it's been awhile since my last update. I'm still alive, just been busy with various shite.
Some gems in this update, most of them new a few older, enjoy :)
--------------------------------------
Well hell, The Rapture kinda died off there for a bit, but I finally found this remix. And I enjoy the shit out of it and it's 9 minutes of glory.
--------------------------------------
This chick always has a way with words, is this remix by Bjorn of Peter, Bjorn and John? Dunno. Too lazy too look, either way I enjoyed it.
--------------------------------------
A little rougher in her approach, here is another girl with an ever-expanding vocab.
--------------------------------------
A sharp remix from half of Orbital's main men, Paul Hartnoll. Love the Wombats and love Hartnoll. I hope he does some more production in this style.
--------------------------------------
Kinda thought Dizzie was just a phase, still kinda think that, but ah well I enjoyed the energy behind this one and the lyrics I don't understand, always a recipe for enjoyment.
--------------------------------------
Kinda fresh little disco diddy, not the norm from Phones, but still very much enjoyed by myself.
--------------------------------------
I think I've loved every remix that Loving Hands have done, here is one I especially knocked one off to.
--------------------------------------
I think I've used the word "enjoy" or variations of more than anything on this blog, but hey, that's what I'm doing, sharing music I have "enjoyed" over the past while. If you've enjoyed anything on my blog, lemme know leave a comment. If you just feel like being a dick, post that too. Either way enjoy the latest update if you're still around.

Oh So Lost

It's been awhile since my last actual track upload. Here are a few that are on my current playlist. Thanks my good friend over at Electric Zoo (http://electriczoo.blogspot.com/) for the Switch and Speaker Junk remixes.

------------------------------------------

I've been a big fan of Goodbooks lately, they always seem to pull out some great remix production. This particular track kinda/sorta reminds me of The Postal Service.

------------------------------------------

The Shins have been on my list for awhile now, then Pete, Bjorn and John come out with a remix and here ya go. Great little track.

------------------------------------------

Erlend Oye is one of my favorite vocalists, from work with Royksopp then in Kings of Convenience to on his own as himself, he never ceases to amaze. Here is a remix of an older track of his by The Twelves.

------------------------------------------

Not really a fan of Tocadisco, kinda too mainstream houseish for my tastes, but their recent track they threw a vocalist in there and then get a proper remix treatment by Alex Gopher, to result in a very nice rounded track.

------------------------------------------

Hand claps and cowbells, need I say more?

------------------------------------------

Kinda finding Switch, Herve, Speaker Junk and the likes are all starting to sound the same. These latest tracks those are starting to venture off in a new direction, really enjoying this next one.

------------------------------------------

Same goes for this next one, not much to this track, but it's well arranged and put together in it's simplicty, it's quite enjoyable, ahh yess tut tut.

Can You Deal With That?

Above design for The Colour Three (www.thecolourthree.com)
-------------------------------------------------------
Haven't done a major update in awhile, probably lost some regulars in the process. Either way here are a few new and old tracks that are currently on my playlist, give em a gander.
-------------------------------------------------------
My favorite half of DFA1979 (R.I.P.), Sebastien Grainger, nice to see him out with a few fairly new tracks.
-------------------------------------------------------
From 2003, I love these WuTang colaborations here and there, this one is with ICube and Rza, "Can You Deal With That?"
-------------------------------------------------------
Is this next remix new? Or did I miss it back in the day? Not too sure, kinda lazy to find out. Either way it's a great track.
-------------------------------------------------------
I just really enjoy this next track for it's simplicity and classic vocals, not much more to say.
-------------------------------------------------------
The Gossip... yep good, Linus Loves... yep good, The Gossip remixed by Linus Loves... yep good.
-------------------------------------------------------
The Goodbooks have really perked my attention, I love this song by them, very heartfelt. The remix makes this great track even better.
-------------------------------------------------------
There are a few more good remixes on the Muse's work coming out here and there, this is one of them by the ever satisfying Does It Offend You, Yeah!
-------------------------------------------------------

Let's Make Out

I'm way behind on updating my blog lately. Been busy with The Colour Three. Above is a new design for the label by 83grafik.
Also, here is a great track by Does It Offend You, Yeah!, with Sebastien Grainger from DFA1979 on vocals.

(above image was a test style for SuicideGirls that I never ended up using)
Haven't updated in awhile, sorry for that. Here are a few tracks that have been on my playlist for a bit now, give them a gander.
--------------------------------------------
Enjoyed this one, can't seem to find the original anywhere though, any ideas?
--------------------------------------------
Love any track The Teenagers get their hands on (with the exception of their original material).
--------------------------------------------
Same thing with CSS, I love their production, but not a massive fan of the vocals. Seems though that like The Teenagers, anything their get their hands on turns to gold.
